Introducing Father Chris McPeak

by the Rector Search Committee and Vestry

Dear Members of Good Samaritan,

Your Vestry and Rector Search Committee are delighted to introduce Father Chris McPeak, who will be joining our Good Samaritan family as our new priest on November 1, 2023. Father Chris, along with his beloved wife Amanda and their daughter Wren, is joining us on this spiritual journey, bringing a wealth of gifts, experiences and a deep devotion to Christ and the Church.

At the very heart of Father Chris is a kind and compassionate soul who radiates warmth and hospitality, making everyone feel welcomed and valued. His passion for the Gospel shines through in every aspect of his ministry, and we are truly blessed to have him as part of our congregation. Father Chris is a teacher at heart and a liturgy enthusiast. His commitment to understanding and sharing the intricacies of our faith will undoubtedly deepen our spiritual growth. As a social justice advocate, he has consistently worked towards creating a more just and equitable world, as a mission that aligns seamlessly with the values of our congregation.

Father Chris’s journey as a faithful priest has been marked by a profound love for music, which has enriched his ministry and touched the lives of many. He is a musician who plays multiple instruments and has a wonderful singing voice. His passion for music extends beyond the church walls, as he is a true lover of all genres. We are eager to witness how his musical talents will enhance our worship experience at Good Samaritan.

Father Chris also brings a unique blend of financial acumen and social media savvy to our community. His experience in running a Capital Campaign at Christ Episcopal Church in Seattle and his expertise in navigating the digital world will undoubtedly benefit us as we continue to grow. As a loving husband and father, he understands the importance of nurturing relationships and fostering a sense of family within our congregation.

One of Father Chris’s most recent experiences as a Campus Minister at the University of Washington has equipped him with the skills and insights necessary to engage with our youth. We believe that his experience in this role will be invaluable in guiding our young members on their faith journey and
helping them find their place in our church community.

We extend our warmest welcome to Chris’ wife, Amanda, and their lovely daughter, Wren. Amanda is a
pharmacist who works in Seattle. Wren is in her first year of preschool. As they become a part of our congregation, we hope that you will open your hearts and arms to embrace them as cherished members of our Good Samarian family.

Together, with Father Chris, Amanda, and Wren, we envision a future where we more fully live into God’s call, deepen our faith, and strengthen our bonds as a loving and compassionate community. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to the McPeak family as we embark on this new chapter of
our journey together.

Come Holy Spirit,

Megan, Laura, Abby, Cathy, David, Joe, Patty, Susan, Stan, Tom (Vestry)
Carol, Rick, Bob, Claire, Phil, Terry (Rector Search Committee)
