Lenten Message from Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry

The Rt. Rev. Michael Curry has been formally installed as the 27th Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church.  Bishop Michael is not only the first African-American serving in this position (a cause for rejoicing) but is committed to leading our beloved church to join in God’s mission in this world through evangelism and reconciliation (a cause for much rejoicing!).  Check out this video with Bishop Curry, and let it inspire you to give thanks to God for what he is doing in our church and open your heart and mind to where God might be leading us.

Adult Lenten Sunday Morning Series – “The Return of the Prodigal Son”

Sunday Feb. 14, 21, 28 & Mar. 6 & 13
On the five Sundays of Lent, the 9:15am adult forum will journey through Henri Nouwen’s book, “The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Story of Homecoming.”  Based on Luke 15 and Rembrandt’s seventeenth century painting of the story of the Prodigal Son, we will explore the main characters in the story and how they relate to our understanding of ourselves and God.  Copies of the book will be available this Sunday, February 7, and the 14th for $10.00 each.
The Wednesday Nights of Lent: Feb. 17, 24 & Mar. 2, 9 & 16
On February 17 and 24 and March 2, 9 and 16, join us for Stations of the Cross with Communion, followed by a simple soup supper and a discussion of Luke’s story of the Passion of Jesus.  Stations will begin at 6:00 pm; supper at 6:30 pm; Bible study and EfM will begin at 7:00 pm.  We’ll need at least two pots of soup each night (to serve 8-10 per pot).  If you would like to provide soup and bread for one or more nights, please click here or contact the church office to sign up.
