Episcopal Youth Community

The Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is a ministry of and for middle and high school students. We are an active community, and we meet Sunday evenings for fellowship, service, and formation. We participate in bible studies, service projects, lock-ins, mission trips and various group outings. We meet Sunday evenings at 5pm for Eucharist, followed by snacks and youth group .For more information on how you can join or support EYC, please contact Fr. Steve.

What we are planning for fall 2015:
  • Fun events including bowling night, game night, Christmas lock-in party, trip to Compline at St. Mark's Cathedral
  •  Serving others at Issaquah Meals, collecting and assembling Thanksgiving meal baskets, working in the Issaquah Christmas Store, and serving the parish by participating in worship leadership and other ministries
  •  Spiritual formation for middle school and high school students beginning with Holy Eucharist at 5pm each Sunday.  Middle school student curriculum will explore the lives of people in the early Church and their relationship with God and Jesus Christ.  High school curriculum focuses on Christian spirituality--understanding who they are as children of God and developing a deeper relationship with God.

Mission Trips

Good Samaritan is dedicated to outreach and hands-on ministry in the name of Jesus Christ. Each year various groups take mission-oriented work trips to different locations.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.  Those who wish to be confirmed must have been baptized, should be sufficiently instructed in the Christian Faith, and prepared to affirm their confession of Jesus Christ as a Savior and Lord.

At Good Samaritan, we offer Confirmation classes throughout the year. Our confirmation class focuses on the basics of the Christian Faith.  It is also expected that youth actively participate church activities such as youth group, acolytes, choir, etc.
