Children Our Children have a variety of Christian Education opportunities. Ou(r Sunday school meets seasonally, (Check our calendar,) 9:00 A.M. on Sunday mornings. We use the nationally acclaimed Godly Play for children through 4th or 5th grades. Godly Play is a Montessori style of Christian Education. When they enter the room, our children are surrounded by the language of our faith. They hear a story, make an art response, and experience a feast. Our Vicar is a Godly Play international trainer and teacher, and all of our teachers are accredited teachers. Godly Play teaches children to be biblically literate, liturgically active and theologically inquisitive. Perhaps the most valuable thing this teaches is the encouragement to wonder and play.
Our children also frequently sing in worship, perform in a Christmas pageant, and serve as acolytes in worship. They are fully integrated into the life of the church.
We provide a volunteer staffed nursery and cry room during the 9:00 A.M. Sunday school hour, and the 10:00 A.M. worship service.
All who work with children are trained in Safe Guarding God's Children. |
