Becoming a member of Good Samaritan is simple.  Contact the church office or Fr. Steve to receive a New Member Information Form.  Complete and return the form.  If you are a confirmed member of another Episcopal parish, we'll request your membership transfer.  If coming from another Christian tradition or seeking to know more about the Christian faith or the Episcopal Church, someone will contact you with next steps.
Although becoming a member is simple, it is a sign of your commitment to the mission and ministries of the parish.  We encourage members to attend worship regularly, serve in a ministry, participate in Christian formation offerings, and support the parish financially.  You can learn more about membership by attending a Newcomer's Class, which is offered twice a year, or by contacting Fr. Steve.
Our church affirms the ancient practice of Confirmation. Confirmation is the received by the laying of hands by a bishop. Only confirmed members of the parish may serve in leadership positions.  See the Sacraments page for more information on Confirmation.

Newcomer's Class

Twice a year a six-week class for newcomers and those interested in membership is offered by the Rector.  The class covers the basic teachings of the Christian faith, the history of the Anglican and Episcopal church, the Sacraments, how faith can be applied to every day life, and how to get connected in the life of the parish.  An instructed Eucharist and newcomer's dinner is held at the final session.  Those desiring to become members of the parish are introduced during a Sunday worship service and formally welcomed into the parish with a welcome liturgy.  For more information contact Fr. Steve.
