Hospitality and Newcomers

Hospitality Ministry

The mission of the Hospitality ministry is to build a strong community within our church family; one that is rooted in faith and open to serving each other.  Our goal is to connect with and provide for our parishioners in the following ways:
  • Coordinating Sunday morning coffee hour;
  • Providing oversight, coordination, and communication for an annual calendar of events that includes:
  • Celebrating the Principal Feasts and Holy Days of the liturgical year
  • Hosting social get-togethers like a summer barbecue
  • Using the calendar as a touch point for other gatherings such as the Medieval Dinner, Game Night, Fundraisers, Baptismal celebrations, etc.
  • Provide a bereavement team, procedures and policies to be able to appropriately handle a death in our church family.
  • Create a care team for our college students.  Staying connected with our students is so important for them and us - ideas include sending care packages each semester, providing a prayer list to our parish to pray for our students, creating a monthly newsletter block where a different student provides an update on their college experience.

Marina Gray is the chair of the hospitality team. Sandra Shields and Sally Farrell are the coordinators of the bereavement team.

Coffee Ministry

Church wouldn’t be church without coffee and pastries! This ministry provides nurturing fellowship after each Sunday service.  Coffee is available after the 9:30 AM service in the Narthex, adjacent to the worship space.  Come and be refreshed, chat and meet new friends.

Greeters

These individuals greet and welcome all who attend worship services. They identify newcomers and visitors, welcome them with warmth and enthusiasm, and provide information as necessary.

Invite your friends to join you at Good Samaritan.
