April 1, 8 & 10:30 am

Whether you find yourself in church often, or haven’t been in years; whether you are a regular and Good Samaritan or have never joined us, all are invited to join us as we celebrate Easter.

Join us as we discover the presence of the risen Christ in our lives, in our midst, and in the world today.

At Good Samaritan, we find Easter to be all the more meaningful by intentionally walking with Jesus to the cross as we await the resurrection.  Join us during Holy Week to discover a richer and fuller Easter.

March 25, 8 & 10:30 am

Palm Sunday begins our commemoration of the events of Holy Week. The service begins with celebration and joy, recognizing Jesus as the one who will make things right in our world, but takes a turn as we recognize how this will happen. Palm Sunday is an invitation to step into the tumultuous days that follow as we move towards Jesus’ death on Good Friday.

March 29, 6:30 pm

Maundy Thursday commemorates Jesus’ last meal with his friends. At this meal – which we remember weekly in the Eucharist, or communion – Jesus washed his friends’ feet, showing them that God’s love is a call to serve. We share a meal together and follow Jesus’ example by washing one another’s feet as an act of service (NOTE: all are invited to participate in foot washing but no one is required).

March 30, 6:30 pm

Good Friday is the day we recall Jesus’ death on the cross. It is a solemn day where we ponder the depths of God’s love, and sometimes wonder why the God who created all things chose to die a horrific death. As we remember Jesus’ suffering for us, we find God present amid our hurt, brokenness, and fears remembering that God has experienced the fullness of human life – even death.

MARCH 31, 7:00 pm

Easter doesn’t just happen on Sunday morning!  In our tradition, we celebrate Easter – the resurrection of Christ and light breaking through the darkness of our world – on Saturday night as well. As we light a fire in the darkness and begin our service in the dark, we have a visual and tangible reminder the Easter brings hope into dark places. We hear the story of God’s acts throughout history, leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection. At this service, we will baptize three new Christians as we celebrate new life found in Jesus. A champagne reception follows.
